May 4, 2024 through Summer

Residential students approved to stay in University housing during this time will be notified by email whenever a parcel (letter-mail or package) addressed to them has arrived at UConn and is available for pick-up. (The resident must be residing in campus housing at the time of their package’s arrival.) This email will direct them as to where they can pick up their parcel, Monday through Friday, between 8:30am and 3:30pm.

Anyone staying short-term in residence on-campus as part of a summer program should utilize their program’s address when mailing anything to themselves at UConn.

Parcels arriving addressed to anyone not currently housed at UConn are returned to sender the same day of arrival. We cannot hold or forward parcels.

“Warehouse” and “UMS”

Picking up at package at the Warehouse or UMS?

University Mail Services (UMS) is located at the Central Warehouse (large building behind the University Fire & Police). Approach the building from the side where the loading docks are located. Proceed through the glass doors that are to the left of the loading docks and straight through to UMS.

Their hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. Closed weekends and holidays.

Do NOT choose Next Day or “Home Delivery” Options

Companies are promising same day or next day delivery of items ordered on their websites when residents choose next day or “home delivery” options.  This form of delivery will lead the company’s delivery personnel to drop your package somewhere on campus at the front door of a building. These packages are not being delivered through a legitimate mail carrier such as FEDEX, USPS, DHL or UPS and it is very likely it will lead to your parcel being lost.  Make sure that you receive a tracking # from one of the following carriers FEDEX, USPS, DHL or UPS when placing an order.

Where is my package?

University Mail Services (UMS) has been working diligently to process the unprecedented amount of packages that continue to arrive daily to the University. Students will receive an email from their mailroom when a package is available for pick up. Students should expect mild delays in the delivery of their packages for the next couple of weeks.

Location of mailrooms and hours of operation are available on this website.

Room Changes

When changing room assignments, within 48 hours of your move, please be sure ask the mailroom clerk to cross off your name on your former mailbox and pull any letter mail that might have arrived.

Mail and packages will arrive to your new mailroom (if it changes) upon Housing Services noting in their software that the room change is completed.
